Lucy's Big Adventure!
Hi everyone. Yes, we're still here! Its been 6 weeks now and still loving every day. Its nothing like working at all, it just feels like helping out, we take it very easy and have really become part of the family.
Baby Emily is being Christened this week, so Guy & Susie have gone away for 10 days down to Perth and left us in charge .. Silly people! Its nice to have the place to ourselves, although its very quiet without them & I'm missing Emily lots! When they come back, they will have a new addition to the family, which will be an 8 week old puppy sheepdog, which I am very excited about and will have to divide my cuddle time between Emily and the new puppy!
Gavin is still doing a great job on the gardens and is currently finishing off some building work to the house, so whilst the baby is away he is taking full advantage and making a lot of noise banging and drilling! I've learnt once again that I can cook and bake if I just try, something that I'd forgotten these last couple of years! I've learnt a LOT about babies being around Emily all the time and helping out Susie whenever possible (Any excuse for a snuggle with the baby really!) Still hasn't made me broody but made me even more aware of what hard work they are these first 6 weeks! She smiled for the first time on Sunday, which was her 6 week old date and it was beautiful!
I've put more photos on here, and also have made a very small video of the house and gardens. There is so much more land but it would take forever to walk around filming it all! As I have explained on the video, I had to make it in sections as the site wouldn't let me upload it all in one go & its only done on the film setting of my digital camera so the quality isn't great, but it should give you an idea of where we're living. If you have sound, turn it on to hear my child-like voice narrating & heaving breathing where I'm so unfit and walking around! Unfortunately, they aren't arranged in order on the site for some reason, but they are labelled Parts 1-5, so make sure you view them in order.
You can also view the photos on here as a slide-show, which looks really good but it seems to chop off a lot of the top and sides of the photo which is a shame as they're best viewed individually but it takes time to do that. There's also a message board section on here, (which I've only just noticed!), so you can leave us messages on there if you prefer.
Hope you all enjoyed your long weekends off work, hoping you all got one!
Much love
Lucy & Gavin
