Today we left Santa Monica to transfer to Anaheim. Drive was approx 30 mins as roads quiet due to it being labour day. When we arrived we had to wait 2.5 hrs before we could check in so the subway and burger place across the road seemed like a good first stop. I had fried zucchini which tasted more like oil than anything else. We then decided would go for a walk to the supermarket to get some salad and snacks for tea as we were over greasy food. The map showed it was 2 blocks down and 2 blocks across. Seemed like a good idea even though the heat was extreme. An hr later we finally got to the supermarket. We were all covered in sweat and the kids were about to drop to the ground. I walked into the supermarket and took my thongs off as my feet were on fire to only be told to put them back on.....dammmm. The supermarket was good and everything was really fresh and in lbs. we called a taxi as there was no way we could walk back with half a trolley of groceries. Once at the hotel we finally checked in. Room was nice but rather warm. Paul offered to go down to do the washing while kids and I went swimming. He ended up taking 4 hrs to wash and wait for clothes to dry. Kids and I went for a swim which was awesome and then I headed next door to the 711. What an experience....so many weird and wild things sold there. Paul tried bud light while I got a Smirnoff can the size of 3 normal smirnoffs for $1.79...bargain. We soon realised our aircon in the room didn't work so had to move rooms but ended up with a better room with a great view of Disneyland fireworks. So a quiet one tonight as we are making an early start at Disneyland tomorrow.
