Road trip - day 21 - Friday
Pierrelatte market this morning. Got up later than intended & decided on breakfast out. Parking was easy to find, but it's obvious this is a popular market with people queuing for spaces in the car park - one out, one in.
Walked just down the road to an enormous market place, full of Muslim people & garish clothes - really not a lot else. Got a pain aux raisin & baguette from a bakers & a drink at a cafe for a late breakfast. The only thing of interest was a young girl who when she knew we were English continued to explain that they were raising awareness & money for a project to build a school (somewhere!!). She wanted to practise her English & us our French..... she was travelling to Berlin to spend some time exclusively improving her English.
THEN we found the food market a few streets away & bought eggs, strawberries, & more bread to make a nice tea of all our leftovers. Got diesel from LeClerc on the way home
Went back to the Gite & sunbathed - 28c at times. G went out to get Rose wine from Rochegud as a present for Blanche & a replacement glass vase for the one that had blown off the outside table.
Blanche came to ask for the meter reading & returned with our deposit & some local Ardeche biscuits.
Had a lovely tea of omelette & fruit with the Ardeche biscuits.
Started to pack, shifted 2 suitcases & various bags to the car & put the camping chairs on the back seat & various heavy bottles at the back of the boot! So far the packing is looking good!!!!
Recycling done & rubbish out; set off for the bar at Rochegud. Lovely atmosphere, sat outside & drank kirs!! 23c at 10pm
