Today we walked through beautiful farmlands -- fields of corn, wheat, alfalfa, apple orchards, olive orchards. We stopped for lunch at a fancy rural hotel. Kat had a disappointing experience because Mom ordered her the wrong thing. However, her dinner made up for her disappointment. She had an outstanding tuna and tomato salad. She was licking the plate so assiduously that the waitress spontaneously brought her some bread, much to our amusement and uncontrolled laughter. We all burst out laughing including the waitress. Fortunately, breaches in manners are tolerated in Spain. Today, Robin asked the keeper of the museum for the toilet and accented his request with an audible toot. Needless to say, he opened up the nearby closed restaurant for our use, as need was so evidently urgent. We then visited his farm implement museum which was surprisingly interesting. We bought two jars of jam from him: tomato and watermelon.
Get me out of here save me I'm dying.
Actual: the waitress was extremely nice. She gave us delicious food, bread for katherine and her balsamic adventures and made jokes in Spanish with us.
Great hike-heavy winds head on most of the day but it kept things cool! It finally rained last night for only the second time the entire trip- despite Julie forecasting multiple thunderstorms every other day that finally petered out into a thunderstorm that she predicted on Tuesday. Alas, only a short period of rain. Spectacular views of farmland and trips thru small villages including the aforementioned farm museum that we enjoyed visiting despite the fact we were mainly looking for a bathroom.
