Our visit to Noosa was short and sweet. We arrived after a longer than expected journey from Hervey Bay to find the town packed, well it is the school holidays here now so its to be expected. With this in mind we headed straight for a caravan park and lucky for us got the last spot. Before we set off we had decided on a few things we wanted to do during this part of the trip. We had both wanted to try our hand at surfing and found out that this is the place to do it and as we only intended to stay here one night we thought we should get on with it. Our campsite manged to book us in for a lesson straight away and the surf school even picked us up. We had booked for a 2 hour introductory lesson where we would learn the basics. There was only 3 of us having a lesson so we pretty much got individual coaching. Our instructor, Max, was a great guy who we felt at ease with straight away. Once he had talked us through the basics it was in the water. I must admit i was pretty nervous but Max made it very simple and we both soon picked it up. It didn't take long for us to stand up and ride the waves which felt great. Max gave us lots of encouagement and helped us if we went wrong. As there was only 3 of us we got to surf loads of waves, not all standing up i might add but you have to fall off a few times. We were really proud of ourselves how quickly we picked it up and really enjoyed the whole experience. Think we might have a go on saltburn beach when we get back...!!!
