Surfers Paradise is a very commercial town and is part of the Gold Coast, which is Australias main holiday destination. Many people have described the Gold Coast as Las Vegas and Florida rolled into one. I like to think of it as Australias answer to Benidorm and I don't mean that in a bad way! Everything you could wish for on a holiday is here! You have theme parks, water parks, sun, beach, hotels, plenty of Irish bars, cafes, restaurants where you can eat outside and most of all holiday makers, the only thing it is missing is a lucky lucky man selling you some fake Rolex watch or a laser pen! All year round the Gold Coast has tourists but its extra busy at the moment as its the school holidays, which made it extra fun for us when we went to Wet n Wild....40 minutes to go on one slide that lasts 30 seconds...somethings not right there!! It was a great day out and we acted as kids for the day! Today I put all I had learnt from surfing lessons to the test and rented a surf board for a couple of hours while Lynz soaked up the sun and laughed at me struggling to stand up on the board! It was too hard for me without an instructor but I will keep trying...practice makes perfect...sort of!! Going out for a meal and few drinks tonight which should be pretty good and then off to Coolangatta tomorrow, which is also part of the Gold Coast just not as busy.
