We set off towards the airport to find the camper depot so we could drop the camper off and then get our lift to the airport, we needed to put some fuel in the van and google maps kept taking us to places saying there was a petrol station when there wasn't! We eventually fuelled up and got the camper to the depot, they had a look around and luckily all was ok, even though we somehow lost a fork! They dropped us off at the airport and we checked in, as we were relatively early we again asked for seats on an exit aisle so we'd have more leg room! In our way to the departure gate there was a crowd gathering and it was to welcome home the New Zealand Olympic team so Adam and I hung around and cheered them on with everyone else. We even got flags from someone and were waving them! When we got through to departures we got some food and pottered around duty free until our flight. It was a good job that we did ask for exit aisle seats as the plane was quite small and the leg room was pretty short! When we landed in Sydney we thought that we were going to be grilled about our intentions and how much money we had etc, just like you see on that Border Force programme, but no-one asked us anything we were straight through with no problems! We got our bags and then headed out to get a cab, on the way out there was a Vodafone stand offering free sims so we picked one up. We got a taxi and gave the driver the address, it took about 30/40 mins or so to get to Aaron and Alex's house, the keys were in the plant pot as discussed with a letter from Julian, Aaron's friend, saying he was playing at a bar in town tonight if we wanted to come. We got our stuff in our room and I walked up to the shop to put some credit on the phone so we could get in touch with Julian. When I got back Jayne, who Aaron and Alex live with, has come home from work. She had me a glass of wine ready in her hand as I walked through the door and then she took us down to the waterfront about 50m from the house! We had a glass of wine down at the front then headed back to the house, Jayne had kindly got some stuff in for tea and made us a creamy pasta dish with mushrooms and bacon. Even more kindly, she dropped us off in town at Trumps Tavern where Julian was gigging. The bar was really busy and when we walked in Julian shouted to everyone how Adam was Aaron's best friend from home, it turned out that the majority of people in there were Aaron's work colleagues! Adam got up and played a couple of songs which was cool. The guys finished playing about 9ish and then they were all heading out for a night out. Adam and I decided to just go for a couple of drinks and then head back. Because I'd started drinking wine at the house, I stuck with it all night and I was so drunk, I don't even remember getting home!
