I started my new job at Peakbound on Monday, there was about 20 off new starters in total, we were told we were all going to be selling life insurance / credit card insurances to existing Citi Bank customers, we had training on the first day which was ok. Aaron and Alex had tickets to see The Black Keys on the Monday night so during the day I looked on GumTree and found two tickets for sale and agreed to buy them from the guy, we just arranged to meet at the venue and buy them. There was some confusion in the end as I thought that the price that the guy quoted was the price for both tickets but he actually meant per ticket, he was sound about it and we met in the middle. The Black Keys were really good, Aaron went and sat with Adam in the seats that we bought and I sat with Alex and Sarah.
On Tuesday, my second day in the job, a guy came in to the training and poached 3 of us to go and work for ANZ selling life insurance, I was one of the three chosen and he said it was a harder sell than Citi Bank but he said that we were the best in the group so would be fine. We had some training on the Citi Bank product and then sat and listened to some other peoples calls. There was this Lebanese girl who worked there and she was really good on the phone and sold quite a lot but she was so rough, she was actually quite scary!!
On Friday, we had tickets to go and see BBC's The Blue Planet Orchestra at Sydney Opera House, it was so good. It was some of the great scenes of the Blue Planet to which an orchestra had composed some original music to. The Opera House is really quite impressive and the show was great!
On Saturday I met Haylie for lunch at Opera Bar which was nice.
Alex's mate Paul was having a Halloween BBQ so we went there for a few drinks, he'd actually made loads of effort with decorations and costume etc.
We only stayed for about an hour or so before heading to Sarah's for a few drinks whilst she and Alex got ready to go to Mad Racket. In the end the convinced me to go with them so I borrowed some clothes from Sarah and went along with them, it was a really fun night, Aaron and Julian came after their gig but Adam didn't come. After we'd been there for a while, we headed back to Sarah's and randomly whilst taking a sip of my drink, my tooth broke!! I was gutted, especially as dentists are so expensive over here!! I headed home to bed before everyone else who stayed a bit longer at Sarah's.
On Sunday I was hungover and we had arranged to go and meet 2 lads who were looking for a housemate in Glebe, we arranged to meet them at a bar on Broadway, they were both really nice, one of them a journalist and the other a solicitor or something legal... They said they had a few other people to meet and would let us know.
When we got home, Adam cooked tea and we chilled and watch David Attenborough.
