I started my paid week of unemployment by going to the supermarket with Alex and then going for an eyebrow wax. I spent the afternoon making mums signature dish of Chicken & Mushroom Pancakes for everyone for tea, it took forever!
At tea time, I went in to the city and met Adam from work to go and meet the girls from the house we went to see in Alexandria that we went to view so that the girl that was away could meet us both. We met them at a bar in Martin Place, Adam was late and when he turned up he looked so scruffy to say we were meeting people hoping they would pick us to be their housemates!! The drinks seemed to go well and they said they would let us know as soon as possible whether they had picked us or not... We went home and all had the pancakes which everyone seemed to enjoy!
Tuesday Adam worked and I had an interview with a recruitment consultant and then spent the rest of the day chilling out and reading my book. When Adam got home we booked him on to a barista course.
The girls from the house in Alexandria text to say that we hadn't been successful in getting the room so Alex, Aaron and I decided to trick Adam and say that it was because he looked scruffy, I changed Alex's name in my phone and she sent a message saying that they didn't think that Adam made a good enough impression, it was soooo funny watching Adam's face, we kept encouraging him to text back to their (Alex's) messages, I can't believe he didn't twig. Aaron and Alex went out to the cinema and Aaron phoned pretending to be one of the girls boyfriend but Adam saw through it straight away saying that he and Aaron had done so many prank phone calls in the past that he'd know his voice anywhere!!
Wednesday and Thursday I arranged a couple of job interviews for later in the week and next week and Adam just had work.
Friday, Adam had a gig at Trumps so Bob and I went out for drinks to watch, afterwards, we went for a few drinks at the Irish bar over the road then Adam went home and Bob and I went to Scary Canaries to meet some of the MIC people, worst backpacker bar ever, it was awful, we just had one drink and went home.
On Saturday I went for lunch with Alex and a girl from Halifax who is Alex's Dads friends daughter who doesn't know many people so Alex agreed to meet her. It was Adams barista course on George Street so after lunch, I went to try and intercept Adam from his course as we were going to go to The Rocks for a few beers with some people from Adam and Aaron's work.
Adam and Aaron had a gig Saturday night and Alex's friend Bec had invited us to hers for tea and a few drinks, so Alex, Sarah and I went to Cronulla on the train to Bec's, it was really nice, Bec cooked some great food and it was a laugh having a few drinks with everyone.
On Sunday we went to view a flat that a girl called Tahli, who works in Trumps on a Friday when Adam plays there lives in and has a spare room, it was a bit dingy and smelt a bit foisty but it was cheap and ok as a last resort.
