Greetings!
Alright, so I did something a little crazy last night...I drove through a blizzard. A very good friend of mine is rehearsing Guys & Dolls for Arizona Broadway Theater (By the by, if you're anywhere near Phoenix/Peoria, go see it!! Runs from Feb 27- April 5: http://www.azbroadwaytheatre.com/ ) and I rented a car to go visit. And got caught in a blizzard. Seriously? A blizzard in Arizona? Well, apparently, we're not too far from the Rockies...so, well, I guess it makes sense...but I thought it was crazy talk at the time! I was even at a point of turning around, but passed exit after exit blockaded by snow. Turned out being safer to just stay on the road and do the 2 hour (or, well, what turned into a 4.5 hour) drive. Luckily, I found myself 5 cars behind a snow plow and just followed him the whole way. I think it's the only way I got through. Visibility was so bad you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you. And thank you Enterprise for having no 4-wheel drive cars left, even though I requested one...(Mom, sorry if this is freaking you out!!).
Anyway, I made it safely and in one piece...and the drive back was unlike anything I have ever seen. Made a side trip to Sodona with the red mountains...it's something out of a movie. It doesn't even look real! As I drove higher and higher into the mountains, I saw the remains of last nights blizzard...I'm counting my lucky stars I got there in one piece... I pretty much just threw all my pictures into this album. Too beautiful!
Oh, I want to give a shout out to Stromboli's here in Flagstaff. One of the better Italian meals I've had in a long time...and one of the best meals of tour, period: http://www.strombollis.com/
Enjoy!
