Tuesday was very exciting! It was the 27th of May and my dad and I had been looking forward to hiking! We went first to this one place in Sedona that was fairly dry, no running water, and it was kind of hot that day (even though it had been about 70F before now). We only went for a few 20 minutes or so before deciding we wanted something with running water, so we drove (a beautiful view) to what was called "West Fork". I wasn't paying attention to what kind of trail it was, how long, or anything like that because I was daydreaming about riding horses AGAIN the next day ......So we started up and had a great time talking, taking pictures and playing in the water! I was literally taking pictures of everything. Especially all the animals, which were mostly people's pet dogs
Then about 2 1/2 hours in, somehow the conversation came up that we were on a 3 1/2 mile trail (which I totally didn't believe) and it goes to some ending point, and then you turn around and go back the same way. It was supposed to take about 4 hours. I thought it was a huge circle of about 10 miles, and would take about 2 hours because it was easy turrain. Boy was I wrong! Probably getting over the uneven rocks was the hardest, but I didn't complain because I love the outdoors! I was just super surprised because I have walked 10 miles with 6 dogs and it only took me about 2 hours.. but then again, that was back in FL. So we had a great time! We walked through water almost up to our waists! But the strange thing is, I was expecting gaters to be swimming by, snakes, and maybe some turtles.. but nothing! We were in Arizona. Where no wildlife is the same as FL. I caught a snake though! I was so excited! He musked on me and it stank! In FL it would be identified closely to a green water snake, only this one was full grown and about 1 1/2 feet long. I knew he wasn't venomous though
That day was so fun! I had cut my legs on tons of things and didn't even know it until I realized my legs were dripping blood... It was pretty chilly out and I had shorts and a sporting shirt on. We got back and dad didn't feel so good. He layed down and after a while he felt better, so we went out for that same delicious Mexican food again! That day was so fun! Check for updates on the rest of our trip!
