The boat that will take us from Ireland to France is called the Oscar Wilde. We will be on this ferry for a total of roughly 20 hours. My goals for this part of the trip are to:
1. Not vomit
2. Sleep
3. Not vomit
4. Pray to...well whatever atheists pray to...that our cabin has wi-fi and that the signal is relatively strong and that there are power ports for the iPhones and my little Mac.
What I find strange about this ferry is that is has not 1, but 2 movie theaters. And like 3 restaurants. Do people really make use of the salon? And the Sephora-ish store on board? Dear lord that must mean that the cabins are so crappy they try to distract you with shiny things.
My hope is that this portion of the trip, well the entire trip truth be told, is similar to when we went whale-watching in Bar Harbor, Maine last October. I was scared s***-less, convinced I would be the one vomiting the whole time and an anxious mess prior to boarding the boat. Once we got moving though, I loved it. Didn't get sick at all and we saw a decent amount of whales to boot. It was cold as f***, we froze our asses off and I had wind-burn on my cheeks and a bit of a cold for the remainder of the trip, but the whale watching turned out to be my favorite part of that excursion. Leaving my wallet in a random bathroom in New York state and not discovering it until New Hampshire is a close second, though. If I leave my wallet somewhere on this trip, I have a feeling that a good samaritan, my Central Clinic ID and one of my business cards will NOT be saving the day....but I digress.
