Hello all,

Just a quick update to say weather sticky but cloudy and raining!!! Not quite what I had in mind!!!

Had a good group meal last night and then went around the night market which was nice. Took some photos of the local kids and they loved seeing themselves on the screen of my digital camera they were laughing and asking for more , more so was there quite a long time!!! BOught some lovely fresh fruit - which I then sat on my balcony - reading and ate - despite the rain - it was fab!!!

More planning for the teaching today - making name cards / signs etc.... very windy on the beach so ended up inside!!! Think we are all ready for the first camps tomorrow morning.

The Island is nice but not quite the tropical paradise I expected!!! The Beaches are a little spoilt with the all night parties that take place. Hope when we go diving / snorkling we will see some unspoilt areas.

The organisers of the project are really nice and have been teaching us some Thai words which I have been using on the locals!!! You know me - up for anything different!!

Been to Hadd Rin tonight - done a bit of shopping and had a nice meal with Sammy, Alice and Becky, 3 of the other volunteers. A very sober time up to now - only had 3 beers the whole trip (I know - not like me at all!!!)

Am so looking forward to seeing the kids now and trying out all our activites on them!!

We are being picked up at 8am (a positive lie in for me then!!)

We are running an OSSE style circuit (Mum / Dad this is a Keele day job exam thing!) so all the kids get to try all the activites - I am of course in my element organising this - seat number stickers at the ready!!!!!

As I type rain is hitting the tin roof of the internet cafe - no tan yet!!!

Have serveral bites on ankles - bite cream used

Have lent out plasters / pain killers / savlon - so the whole of Boots First Aid counter I bought was not in vain.

Only 1 more frog in the bathroom!!

Well what else to say - hope you are all well -not missing me toooo much I hope!!!

Will update more when I have done some teaching (let you know how the OSSE went!!)

P.S A fantastic green and purple lizard has just ran up the wall in front of me!!!
