Arrived in Byron Bay. Another very chilled out place. People are so laid back they are lying on the floor!!! Nice to see but when you are hungry or in a rush it really gets on your nerves. Jumped off the bus - well actually struggled off with my 30kg suitcase - and we were picked up by a campervan from our hostel. Arrived in Surfers Paradise this morning at 8.15am. Checked into our hotel and headed straight for the beach. How gorgeous!!!!!! I was so excited. Threw my shoes off and ran onto the sand. It was absolutely beautiful. The beach stretches for miles and all you can see is sand and waves. After having a McDonalds breakfast we walked along the beach for about 2 hours, (absolute bliss), found a vodafone shop and bought an Australian phone. We then had tea at the Hard...

Arrived safely in Brisbane but very very tired. Stepped out of the airport into heavy rain and got a train to our hostel. Yuk, yuk and more yuk. It was awful - dirty, tiny, smelly and just down right manky! Left after 5 minutes and ran around in the rain looking for accommodation. Booked into a lovely apartment with a pool, spa and sauna. So chuffed! First day was spent walking around in the rain, checking out the shops, restaurants and most importantly the pubs...
