Another Day in Paradise!! Waking up with no real plan is so empowering and allows one to live purely in the moment. I slept in a little and then headed around to one of my favorite beaches for a morning swim. The sun was out, the water was beautiful and I spent the morning swapping between swimming and sun baking. Around 1pm I decided to head to the main city: Pochutla - about 30 minutes away. Whilst waiting for the Pochutla collectivo there was this huge dog fight involving about 5 dogs - the main 2 culprits being pitbulls. The dogfight was the worst I have ever seen and the dogs were ripping each other apart and the two main offenders locked there jaws around the neck and heads of one another. Two courageous women jumped in and grabbed the dogs whilst the 10 or so men standing around stepped back and didn't even pretend to assist. The dogs continued fighting with locked faces and whilst the women tried everything - one poor lady ended up getting bitten. It was strange but I new this was going to happen before it happened - like DejaVu. The ride into Pochutla was amazing winding through the lush green valleys and stopping at all the little settlements collecting people. The collectivo is the cheapest form of transport but also the slowest and so the people who ride these collectivos are very friendly, probably without to much wealth and always wanting to talk. It's true the poorest of men with whom appears to have nothing still has his words. I walked around Pochutla trying to decide what I would get for lunch and after an hour decided on roasted and rotisery style chicken as I haven't eaten much meat in last week. Unfortunately there was nowhere to sit at the roast chicken place as it was just for takeaways so I headed of in search of a seat in the shade somewhere - not an easy task by any means. Whilst walking around I ran into Flor and her mother and decided to head back to Puerto Angel with them and get out of the heat. Lunch turned into another 4pm affair by my god it was nice eating chicken again. The rest of the afternoon I relaxed and started packing my things ready for my trip to Puerto Escondido tommorow.
