We arrived bright and early yesterday, and went to our hostel, Hanoi Backpackers. The taxi drivers meter said 80,000 Dong and this seemed a lot to us. When we arrived, Dan went in to "check it was the right hostel" and they told him the taxi should have cost 20,000-30,000. He came out gave the taxi driver a generous 40,000 and the taxi driver was so over the moon with this that he told us to "f*** off" and tried to run Phil over.

Anyway, once we got in the hostel we couldn't check in until 1 (it was about 9am) do headed to the TV room to watch Due Date and Johnny English Reborn. That's right!!! No nap needed!!!

During the afternoon we grabbed lunch and had a walk around Hanoi, to the markets, lake and surrounding areas. After our walk we headed back to the hostel for a pub quiz. We were awful!! And that's being kind!! Afterwards, we decided to do what we seem to do quite well. We had to be up at 7.30 today which meant getting hammered and possibly doing an all nighter. We ended up in bed about 3, so failed the latter but 1 out of 2 isn't bad right?

We are currently on the way to Halong Bay for the Hanoi Backpackers 3 day 2 night booze cruise. Hopefully it should be as good as expecting!!!
