"f*** off dan. If you want something done, do it yourself. I don't give a s***" - Phil 4th August 2012
So we left Sihanoukville on the bus from hell. A sleeper bus with beds that arrived at midnight. Was really in the mood for sleep and when they squeezed five of us into a space which should sleep four we weren't amazingly comfortable. We swapped buses at 1am at Phnom Penh and this was to take us over the boarder to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I got on board and the seat left for me barely had enough leg room for The Borrowers yet alone me. Also, the seat behind me had room for Peter Crouch to sit down ten times over. Asian bus design did not impress me and once the bus got moving, I moved on to the metal stairs which weren't comfortable but had a bit more space to spread out.
17 hours after leaving Sihanoukville our 12 hour bus arrived in Ho Chi Minh, also known as Saigon. We decided to treat ourselves in the best way we could think - Pizza Hut. After lunch we headed to the Vietnam War Museum and then onto bowling.
Reigning champions Dan "The Balls" Kendal and Rosella "The Buquette" O'Regan decided to defend their title, leaving me with Phil "The Horse" O'Regan. Rosella managed to knock a few down this time, whilst Phil and I were s***, meaning that they comfortably went on to win and remain undefeated so far throughout Asia 2012.
After bowling we decided to walk back to our hostel to see what Saigon was like. The one thing we noticed was how Western everything was - the shops and local people's attitudes in particular.
We got back, had a few drinks, and headed to a bar. I was feeling rough so I headed back about midnight, when the others headed off to a club.
Yesterday, we had a lie in and once we were up we headed for an afternoon at Dam Sen Waterpark. £3 in and we went for the last two hours of the day. No lines for any of the slides and it was a really fun, chilled out afternoon.
During the evening, we grabbed dinner and a couple of beers before being sensible and heading to bed as this morning we had to be awake at half 6 for the bus. We are currently on our way to Mui Ne with not much of an expectation of what to see or do.
