Hello again! Today was another day of claaassses.
We are really starting to get into a routine now...I try to get out of bed by 8, but usually closer to 7 (it gets light here really early...5 is sunrise)
German was better than usual...she actually called on me (!) and when she did, it was so that everyone could ask questions about my family :) Someone asked if I had a dog, and i said something about Wrigley, and then a kid asked what my family eats at night (which was a weird question to begin with) and I accidentally said "we eat the dog" hahahahhaha i meant to say "we eat some chicken"...? and it was a pretty good laugh.
For history class we went to the Mozarthaus Vienna! It was like all of the other buildings I have been to: empty, with refurbished walls. Literally the only thing that was the same was the physical space, and the beautiful ceiling of Mozart's bedroom, which is pink and white marble with Gold...but there is something about standing in the room where Marriage of Figaro was written, as our history teacher pointed out. there is a reason millions of people come to stand in that spot. I guess thats why you have to know something when you come to Vienna. If you dont pay attention, you really miss out on the real treasures of the city. One of the cool parts of the museum was the set of (about 2) artifacts. ha one was a sash from the freemasons and an apron and mozart's book and also mozart and castanza's party outfits. yay! so that was fun, but i think the real cool attraction will be this weekend when we go to Saltzburg and see where he grew up!
Appropriately, we are all cramming for a HUGE listening test...it covers about 1.5 hours of music! I dont know how im going to do it. Actually, I probably wont.. we have to name the Composer, Genre, Movement and Piece for 3 piano sonatas, 2 string quartets, 2 operas (only 5 numbers for each, which has 2 movements)....nice.
Well, back to prep for this crazy test! Tomorrow I'm making dinner for 12 people...crazy...I can't even cook for one. Whatever this should make for a good story...afterward we are practicing for our German midterm. We are halfway done?!?!?!
