Shoutout to Kays mom, my new reader! This picture is for you! haha
Today was monday number three...I started off the week the right way with two croissants and lots of nutella...gosh im going to make up for it all week. I also burnt frozen chicken nuggets, but smothered them with Heinz 57 to compensate. I cant win haha. Fortunately everyone helps me out a lot, and they come to the kitchen when they smell something funky..great roommates haha.
I didnt do anything especially exciting today, but overall it was a good day! I got a lot done, practicing wise...i kept my wits and went really slowly, rested when i got tired, and was able to feel like i got something accomplished strength-wise. This really is a re-building process!!!
One of my new favorite drinks is bubbly elderberry juice. Weird, but cheap and available and sweet. Sweet.
Today's performance workshop was really special...a trombone player from the Vienna Philharmonic came and talked to us about the history of the Phil. There was so much that we learned, so im not going to start to go over it, but a few interesting facts: 1-there IS an auditioned pianist. 2- you must be in the opera orchestra to be in the phil. After three years in the opera orchestra, you can apply for an invitation to audition...its tough! 3-The phil is managed by its own players and there is no higher governing body than the elected leaders from the orchestra
thats enough for today! have a great last day of school Matthew and Carolyn!
