Today was performance workshop. We had a masterclass where people could play for the instrumental students in the class and recieve feedback about their performance habits, etc... I played the Haydn again, but had a terrible memory slip, and the audience didnt like my performance at all. They found it tentative. Hmm. I dont want to make excuses, but the piano took a lot of getting used to, and when they asked me to try something different I couldn't figure out how to do it. I think it was very uncontrolled, and the secret to classical music is staying in control of the tempo and the notes, because it is not usually technically as challenging as it is mentally. Thats why i love it, though :)
We went out to a bar tonight. The first one we went to was really really sketchy so i didnt get anything, but there was a group of about 10 of us. It was playing like underground American music...then at 11 they were in the middle of a country song (?? it felt like the twighlight zone...so weird) and then switched to something urban...i dont really know what it was. Anyway, we split. The group broke up then and Alicia, Kay, Allie and I went to this "exclusive" bar and I got a mojito, my first legal drink! It was very sweet! I could pretty much chew on the sugar. but it was pretty and we took an hour to relax and just chill after the first week of classes (p.s. they end thursdays...yesssss).
Tomorrow is our day off and we are going to Schonbrunn palace...thanks for tuning in!
