The journey from Poznan to Wroclaw (pronounced something like 'rots-wav') with PKP Polish State Railways took a little over two hours and travelling in First Class was a bargain at around £10.00.
Our hotel, the 3* Piast Wroclaw Centrum, was just opposite the recently refurbished main railway station. The hotel was around a fifteen minute walk into the historical central area of Wroclaw.
Like Poznan, the main square in Wroclaw is stunning and beautifully restored. It really is a nice place to wander around and just soak up the atmosphere. Our lunch in the main square at the Restaurant Fredra served up some glorious Polish cuisine and boy were the meat stuffed pierogi rather gut filling!
In order to walk off a few calories we headed out, via the Raclowice Panorama (sadly we could not visit as each timed entry slot was already full), to the Ostrow Tumski area of the city. This area contains the fabulous cathedral as well as many other churches and is a pleasant area to enjoy.
After our evening meal at 'Whiskey In The Jar' on the main square in Wroclaw we again headed out to see the cathedral building which was nicely illuminated.
Wroclaw has much to see and we could easily have filled another day but alas the following morning it was time to head back to Poznan for our flight home.
