Our last day of vacation before we head home and we are wondering what to do. Boston is a place I always wanted to visit since I heard it was nice, but I am not really a big city person. There is more to do related to history, but the kids had enough of that for this trip. I am not into just walking around aimlessly wondering the streets, and there was not much more we were interested in doing. They have the duck, jet boat tours, etc.; however, I feel those are just tourist traps. Plus we have a jet boat ride in the Niagara River that goes up to the whirlpools that sounds more interesting to me. We had a chance to see the City from the water when we took the water taxi.
After some discussion we decided to visit the New England Aquarium. We headed out after a late breakfast. Dropped Gil off at the movie theater and headed to park near the aquarium. The aquarium was nice, and we spend a few hours exploring. We touched small leopard sharks and saw many interesting jellyfish. Javi got to see a huge turtle - his favorite.
Gil bough us pizza at Sal's pizzeria and had it ready with him when we drove by to pick him up. Since we were not about to pay another $28 to park, we ate in the car as we were driving back to the campground. I have to say the pizza was really good. The best I have had outside of NYC/NJ.
We arrived at the campground early enough to relax and enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Some of us headed to the heated pool, while others chose to play ping pong. I met a family in the pool that is here on holiday (that is how the Europeans say vacation) from Germany. They flew into Toronto, picked up an RV and visited Niagara Falls before the headed for Massachusetts. She mentioned thay other than reservation for the Ferry to cross back into Canada, they had a flexible schedule. I recommended for them to visit Acadia and if they did not get a campground, to stay in the Walmart on Ellsworth.
We finished the evening with a nice campfire and s'mores. Life is good,
