This is our second day in Acadia. We headed out late morning to arrive in Bar Harbor during low tide. The purpose for this is to be able to walk across to Bar Island and hike the trail. It was very cool to walk across, we saw shells, algae, and star fish as we got across to the island. Once in the island we hiked to the top, the view is mainly obstructed by the vegetation. You only get a peek at the harbor from one side.
Bar Harbor is a tourist trap town with a lot of shops and very expensive restaurants. After the hike we had lunch in one of them, the food was good, but not my kind of place. I do not need to be surrounded by fanciness to feel I had a good meal. After a bit of shopping we decided to head to the car road to the top of Cadillac Mountain since no one was in the mood to hike it. It was a nice drive and the views from the top were very pretty.
By the time we came down the mountain is was close to 5PM, much too late to embark exploring the loop road in the park. We had spotted a couple of miniature golf places and decided to go for a round of that instead. After Gil beat us under par we headed to the campground for dinner and laundry.
Tomorrow we get to explore Acadia one last day.
