well unfortunately today meant we had to leave Karijini.... it is certainly all the books say it is plus so much more, I think you would really need a week to explore at least a large portion of it, truly spectacular. We have also identified our youngest born child is a direct decendant of the mountain goat family after watching him navigate the gorges never by the easiest path possible! (Much to Nan's frustration)
Off to Port Hedland.. a quick drive (3 hours tops including a stop for fuel and lunch).. never seen so many trucks on the road in all my life road train after road train another car was a rare site and so were the police strangely enough. We have driven over 1000km and yet to see a police car on the road that wasn't a heavy load escort.
Bitterly disappointed that the Big 4 park in town that is on the beach was fully booked :( so we are off at the main park in South Hedland surrounded by mining vehicles and high vis vests.. (sorry girls nothing positive to comment on - but guys the best selection of tattoo's and fake attachments I have ever seen!!)
The joy in Nan's face when we said we now had 2 days of flushing toilets and a shower that didn't involve boiling your own water was the highlight of our day :)
Tomorrow we will venture Port Hedland show the boys the town and most importantly do some washing :)
