Left campsite, went to supermarket and read papers in the car park. France play Wales tonight in the first semi final so the paper was full of what they think will happen etc. Wales got a pretty good chance so should be a good game! then decided to go to a local game of rugby that was on. Made our way to pukehoke and watched nz heartland vs nz maris. Was good game and they both did the haka to each other at the beginning which was great! Garnock should defo start doing it at the beginning of their games, although they would probably start a fight if it was like Irvine or ardrossan lol! Headed back to Auckland and to clare's, graemes cousin, who stays just near Eden park. House is lovely that she shares with two guys so met them and then headed out for dinner! The place was jumping with french and welsh supporters! Good atmosphere. Headed to Eden park and it started absolutely pouring down! We ran to buy a poncho and everyone else had the same idea! Think they must have sold so many ponchos in that ten minutes. Headed up to our seats, we were in the temporary stand at the end of the pitch and were so high up! Took ages to get to the top and cos it was raining nobody was going out so was a bit of a queue! Got there eventually and watched the game. in the first half a welsh player, sam warbuton, got red carded and the crowd were raging! Was more or less the ref who decided the game and not the players. Wales struggled a bit after that but still didn't play too bad! France won by 1 point which isn't a lot considering they had an extra guy than Wales! Afterwards we went to pub but it was hoaching so just headed back to clares. Stayed up for a bit catching up with her and talking to flatmate Michael. Finally got to bed at 2am and that's France through to the final! Don't really think they deserve to be through and they have lost 2 pool games which has never happened to a team that has been in the final so we'll see what happens with second semi which is nz and aus tomoro night!
