Had a busy day today! Got up early and helped sheena and rob move out their house. Also had to give Conrad (campervan) a big clean as we were dropping him off, how sad! Drove to Auckland and dropped him off. Was sad to see him go as he has been good to us. Maybe a bit cold at times, but he didn't break down or anything so all good! We had to make sure certain things were done or we got fined but everything was spic and span! got taxi into town, we were a bit down the road when graeme realised he had left his fancy camera in the campervan, the bit where we slept above the drivers! So taxi quickly u turned and we managed to get it safe lol! Went into auckland and to hotel. The boys went off to the sky tower as Jamie hadn't been before, and I did a bit of shopping! Met up with them and they were in queue for a bungy swing thing. It was like a 3 seats attached to two bungy ropes that fired you into the air at 200kph! We were so surprised that jamie wanted to do it cos hes normally not keen on that kinda thing! So we watched 3 people do it before the boys, holy man, jamies face just turned pure white and he was shaking like a leaf! it was nothing like just a wee ride, the swing went shooting up so fast and it turned upside down and it was just mental! So after about 15 minutes of persuasion he decided to go for it. So the three boys went on and there was a lot of screaming and shouting and swearing but i think they enjoyed it lol! After that we met my pal catherine for dinner then we all went back to hotel to get ready for scotland vs england. Was a massive match as scotland had to win by over 8 points to get through to the quarter finals. Facepaints, kilts etc and we walked the fan trail to eden park. Great atmosphere and "friendly" banter with the english! tonga were playing France at the time and were winning so the pubs we passed were full of crazy tonga people! Got to the park and was fab atmosphere. The first half of the game Scotland played amazing! They didn't score any tries but they had the majority of the ball and were looking really positive. Jonny wilkinson played missed 3 kicks in a row so that was quite amusing! oh and i dunno if you saw this back home but the two england kicking coaches were suspended from the game as they had swapped the ball in the last game (eng vs Romania) when wilkinson didnt get any kicks! They had been seen as cheating so got suspended, although really we thought they should have got points deducted or something! Cheating ba***rds! By half time the score was 9-3 to us so was good! The second half was just as exciting although we did miss a few good goes at a try or so! So it was maybe 5 minutes before the end and we were still winning by 3 points, 12-9, we needed to win by over 8 points and there was a few close encounters! Then 3 minutes before the final whistle, bloody England got a try. Me and graeme just looked at each other we were gutted. They converted it so were winning 14-12. And that was it, we were out the world cup. Absolutely gutted! Could have cried it was sad! We didn't even stay to watch them get their medals! We then met up with the boys again and my friend Catherine and went to a pub in kingsland where we met graemes other cousin, Clare. The pub was hoaching and good times were had! After a couple of hours and drinks we decided to head into town. So we got taxis down to the front at Auckland, tried to get into the cloud which is a big party rugby thing, but it was 1.30am so it was closed! Went to a pub/club called the waterfront so that was a good laugh and got some dancing in! Me n Graeme left about 3am and headed back to the hotel we were walking back and we met a guy that used to play at garnock, Murray Picking, from Arran. So that was strange just walking down the street n he was walking towards us lol! Chatted with him for a bit then back to hotel. Great day and night but a bit gutted Scotland are out the world cup. They played really well tonight and we were sure they were going to win but never mind! It's been a great experience supporting them anyway! but looks like ill need to put my blue wig and facepaints in the bin!
