Day 7: Up at 4am this morning, not very nice! We were meant to leave the hotel at 5.45am but didn't get away until 5am (seems to be the same ones always late, and it's not me!!) We were caught up in a queue at the airport, and ended up being rushed through as the flight was boarding. We had to run to the gate, but still made it in time! Thankfully, the flight was only 50 mins and so we were landing before we knew it. Met at the airport by the local guide, Tinh. Very nice young fellow with a real sense of humour! I'm sure he doesn't understand half the things Alan says to him, but he smiles politely and nods.
Dalat is so much cooler than Saigon, and was quite a relief for us. We were straight on the bus and heading off to the Zen Monastery and to take a cable car ride, to view the mountainous terrain around Dalat. With the French architecture scattered throughout the town, it almost looked like an alpine town somewhere in the Swiss Alps!
Lunch was at a lovely little place (Noc Hue) which we all appreciated by the time we got there. It had been a long day!! All replensished after our delicious lunch and ready to take on the rest of the sights, the skies opened up, and it bucketed down. The market stop was called off, and a free afternoon was granted to us, as it was just too wet to do anything else. Much appreciated!!
A group dinner was organised for 7pm, and was also a very tasty treat, A walk through the night markets, and a stopover at a local pub finished the night off nicely.
