Glenda & Alan's Vietnam Tour : Our Duty to Enjoy!
Day 5: Big day today, beginning with an 1 i/2hr bus ride to the Cu Chi Tunnels, well known for the Viet Cong's part in the Vietnam War. Quite a strange place really, with rifle fire going off, and pretend land mines 'blowing up' every so often. Scared the living daylights out of me I can tell you!! Quite unecessary really!!
From there we came back to Saigon for lunch at Pho 2000. This was where President Clinton and his daughter Chelsea had lunch on a visit to Vietnam in 2002. They still have the table set as it was then!!
After that we toured the Reunification Palace and then on to the War Remnants Museum, which I declined on going into. I don't need to see the atrocities.
Out to dinner to a plush restaurant, with traditional dancers.
