I am also sorry for how long it gas been in between blogs.
Not last weekend but the weekend before we had joshs birthday who is a British bol who lives about 40 mins out of Suva so we had vols come into Suva from all over fiji. On the Friday night we had 3 girls stay with us which meant that we went out for dinner and a few drinks and the plan was to be home early but that didn't happen, turned into a very late but fun night. Saturday night all the 12 vols had arrived we had recovered from the previous night and it was time to do it again. We went out for indian and then went to orielly's bar. At about 3:30am everyone recieved a text saying that they were predicting a tsunami to hit Suva at approx 9:30-10:00am Sunday morning, as you can all imagine I freaked out, while all the locals in the club acted as if nothing was happening. I was supposed to be going to waibau ( 40min from Suva where other vols live) at about 12 but due to being higher up and more inland I decided to catch the first bus there at 8:15. No tsunami ever came and and I just became the butt of many locals jokes in my pannic. Some locals were so sure it wasn't coming it just stupid that they sat down at the foreshore waiting for it! On Sunday the locals in joshs village cooked a traditional lovo for us. A lovo is where they cook chicken and other veggies and leaves under ground, cover it with leaves , seal it and smoke it, which was really yum. We then tried to play rugby in the mud which turned into a massive mud fight which then required a clean off under the waterfall at the 'pool' down the road. This of course lead into a kava session which was then washed down with dry rum, which burnt all the way down!! We stated there the night as Monday was a public holiday. It was awesome to see all the vols again as we all were really close but it was a very tiring weekend and I lost my voice.
Last weekend was supposed to be a quiet weekend after the previous one but that was not the case. We were invited to a charity kava sessionin waibau with the other vols raising money for a netball team. So you pay for each bowl of kava and you can buy them for other people, it was awesome fun and we met heaps of new people, this once again led to a late night as people kept buying us bowls! We then went to a rugby tournment on sat which I knew none of the rules but stacey tried her hardest to explain to me, I kinda got it, still boring except we got on TV!!!! Everyone was watching so have had so many people tell me they saw me. We were then invited by the new Zealand rugby 7s team to meet them out, an offer we couldn't turn down. So we met up with some of the biggest people I have ever met and had another good night.
That is all from me at the moment, I will try and start replying to the comments when I get a chance xxxxx felicia
