Hello everyone
Sorry about the photos, they take a very long time to load hence there only being one, now 3 i am trying to do something about it.
I am settling in very fast as a local, i no longer wake up in the morning in a sweat. We have joined a cycling club thing which rides on a sat morning and also on sundays if we want to go. It is an easy, flat 10km along the bay which is very pretty. We have also visited a village where we have been invited in to a youth group which is every fri and sun night. The lady we know from the village is super nice, she cooks us extra food and brings it to school for us, she said we are welcome at her village any time we want, we can even stay there. Hopefully on Sunday we will get to swim in the "pool" near her house which is a natural pool that has a waterfall.
Work is also very good, the kids disabilities are not as bad as what i thought and some of them dont have a disability at all. The centre is pretty much a kinda for disabled kids. I have learnt most their names (there is about 30-40 kids in the whole centre, but really depends who turns up). Most of my day i watch the kids help them with thier work or just try and get them to stay in one spot, tell them to stop climbing up the door or on the bench, i do typing for the teachers and push kids on the swing for as long as i can stand in the sun.
Thankyou everyone for my birthday wishes!! i had a great day, some other vols who live not to far away came to suva and we went out for lunch and diner, played basketball with the local (actual basketball was cancelled, which was not surprising in fiji) and then we went out at night to down under, an aussie club which has photos of thongs ands aboriginals on the walls so i had an awesome time.
Missing you all heaps
xxxxxxx Felicia

Amanda Price Hey Felicia - belated Happy Birthday and good to hear that you are settling into a very different lifestyle with ease !! It's an experience that I'm sure you will look back on with fondness - good on you for stepping outside the square, it's all character building stuff. Hear that V&D are planning on a visit in May/June - it will probably be good to see a couple of familiar faces, I know I felt like that when we moved to Hong Kong. Things going along here on the Sunshine Coast as normal as one can expect, Nick has just started Yr 9 and is now taller than me .... but he hasn't changed yet from that nice little boy he used to be. I just have to warn him about those Yr 10 girls who have taken a fancy to him (LOL) !!!!! Hope you continue to enjoy your Fiji experience - take care! Best regards Amanda
Hayesy Happy belated birthday from kiz and me, too, Felicia. We had your mum down with David on saturday to finalise the shells. Little did they all know that nige had b*****ed off (inadvertently) with one of the key shells in the deal. Ahhh, the joys!! Glad you're settling in so well. Cheers, hayesy.

Cassie Hey Flee! Wow, you've been so busy! Good to see you're getting aclimatised and settling in as a true local. Good on you for joining the cycling club - 10km! Life over here is pretty boring really, just getting everything ready for uni in a few weeks. Keep on enjoying yourself and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, Lots of love, Cass
