So I just took it easy for most of the day, charging my stuff and having a wee look at what other stuff I want to do. Was just sitting in the common room and got chatting to a few people. A Swedish guy, who was a bit weird and a couple of Nigerian girls who were from London. Turns out they were trying to book flights to Hong Kong for tomorrow. Leaving it a bit late I thought, though it was very entertaining listening to the two of them.

Had to phone at 4 to check on the status of my visa application. First of all I had to try and explain to the guy behind the desk in my hostel that I'd like to use the phone. But when we got that sorted I spoke to the woman and enquired about my visa. She asked me simply what my nationality was and then told me it was ok, no surname, no reference number, nothing. Hopefully when I turn up on Tuesday it will all be ok.

Got to face time Trisha as she had offered to get up early to chat. After that I got chatting to the Nigerians again Oyen and Falu, and they asked if I wanted to grab something to eat. Well it's not like I have any plans, so I accepted that offer. We had a flick through the guide book and picked out yo yogi park near Harajuku as somewhere we wanted to go before dinner. Other than that we were just going to wing it with regards to dinner, find somewhere along the way.

Jumped on a couple of trains and made it to the park. It was dark at this stage but the park was lit so we wandered through for a bit. What was nice about it was that even though it was evening and there were groups of people hanging around it had a very relaxed atmosphere. No intimadition at all, which was really nice and refreshing. They had a couple of fountains that changed colour, got a few snaps of those. We wandered through Harajuku trying to find somewhere to eat. The place was buzzing, it must have been 9ish, people everywhere and nearly every designer shop you can think of. We wandered around for what seemed like forever, then eventually picked somewhere to eat. To be honest there is no skill involved in picking somewhere good, it's just luck. You can't really tell from the outside, can't even read the menu! So we rocked in and ordered a whole heap of stuff and some beers. Was very tasty, I'm yet to have any bad Japanese cuisine. It is all really fresh, not that I know what I am eating half the time. Getting an English menu is a novelty and even if you do the translation is often so bad it's funny. Good old google translate, I think the issue is that the Japanese use one word for multiple things, very often this is translated wrong, with hilarious results. I'll create a separate section for the photos.

After dinner we headed to Shibuya as the girls had not seen the crossing and it was their last day. Oyen had said it was within walking distance, I had my doubts, but we walked anyway. I'm pretty sure we were walking for the guts of an hour, but we got there eventually. It looked pretty good at night, still plenty of people milling around. With all the Craic I completely lost track of the time, it was now after 12, it never feels late here because there are so many people around. We ran and made it on to a train, though it stopped half way and we had to walk home. Luckily we have the Tokyo Sky Tree near the hostel so it makes a good navigating point. It took at least 2 hours to walk home. I was crawling in to bed at 3, straight after my onsen.
