There always seems to be something to do, if you are willing to get off your bum and leave Seminyak.
Our friends Simon and Henna are living in Bali now, and we all went to go see the Oakley Pro Junior contest held in Keramas the other day. Although the surfing during the event was hailed as some of the best surfing in a contest EVER, we only handled being there for a couple hours. Surfing is a fun sport, but watching a surfing contest can be rather boring. 2 kids out in the water for 20 minutes while the waves are absolutely pumping. You do end up seeing a couple seconds of action, but you see too many perfect unridden waves and the crowd gets bored. We were bored. We much rather watch the highlights on the net.
Kalle's good friend Lincoln is here from Australia, so he went with Simon over to Lincoln's place in Canggu and ended up getting one of the funnest surf sessions of his entire Bali trip. We must mention that the house that Linc is staying it is amazing with a pool, TV, wireless connection, etc.
On the school front, we finally hit the half way mark and thus had tests all week. The last test is thankfully take away, which has to be returned by next week Wednesday. All the rest are over and done with, which means that we have a 10 day holiday from school! It has been a bit of a pain getting to school because it seems as if rainy season is beginning. It's been pouring down rain the last few mornings, and we had to still make it to school on the moped. Luckily we have good rain coats and we put our shoes in the bagpack, so that they wouldn't get soaked.
For the holidays we are still debating whether we go to the Gilis' or just hang around the Canggu area, but none the less, it feels good not to have to drive to Denpasar for a good week and a half!
