After Ramadhan and all the crazy holidays, it seems like our Bali life is back to normal. We've been having some crazy days at school, from 8am to 5:30pm. Luckily enough there's not too many of those, but they came along because many school days were cut short due to Hindu and Muslim holidays. That's just how certain things work around here, religion is first, and school stuff can be re-arranged with ease as a second priority.
Many of our school friends have finally gotten settled in, and had their house warming parties. Some we've been able to attend to and we have really had a blast. Although we end up leaving at the latest at 12pm before things start getting too wild for us. We are a bit of a boring couple. :)
Some of the interesting things that have happened in school in the last week or so, is that we' ve learned that Indonesia's budget seems to depend strongly on the automobile and tobacco industry's tax money. This made us worried as to how Indonesia will address alarming rate at which traffic on the island of Bali seems to be growing. 50,000 new cars a year, not including motorbikes. Scary. Food for thought.
Another is that at our house 2 cats (Garfield and Felix) have constantly been trying to get us to feed them. They cry and meow all morning, but we don't have anything to give 'em, so we haven't.We finally managed to see the gecko that lives in our house in a good place to take pictures of it. Now you can see why we've given it the nickname "Goliath". He was hanging out right outside our window/door, so we got on the other side of the glass so that you can appreciate how big he is in relation to our heads.
