After a lovely breakfast, we drove south around the lake and drove to Verona to pick up some things we neglected to pack- me, passports;Joey, camera(!); Lindsey, heels; Patrick , swim trunks for a potential hot tub. On the way to Genova, I called the hotel we stayed at last time near the opera house so we could walk to the amazing restaurant we ate at 4 times in 3 days ... And we got 2 rooms! We stopped for gas and a potty break- and Joey forgot that we had a diesel. 20 liters later, it was pumped out, diesel pumped with an additive then out again. Sigh. Adventure! Only delayed us an hour and €450. ... So. Into Genova to our hotel, and there was no parking left.. Joey drove around for at least 30 minutes for parking in a lot. We dropped our bags and walked to our favorite restaurant- and it was closed!! So we ate at Le Rune. When we were in Genova with Tom and Serene in 2013!we ate here, but I was ill that night and not really up to eating. The first course of pumpkin ravioli was sweet and creams, while the pasta pesto was light - so wonderful! gnocchi with sea bass was excellent but way too filling and the linguine with seafood was a bit more on the fishy side, but definitely tasty.. Ravioli with meat sauce was my least favorite but it was still good! We had a nice Barolo with our pastas, and finished off with a limoncello. A thoroughly enjoyable meal! We walked around the piazza a bit and then retired for the evening. But Patrick and Lindsey wanted to stay out a bit more... Ah, to be young again and be able to wake up again the next morning!
