Pisa was crowded! We went into the baptistery (4 euros) To hear the singing. One guy came in,sang one note And because of the acoustics, Was able to sing another note and then another. And there was a major triad harmonizing with himself. Our group thought it was a ripoff. Impressive but we would have preferred to actually hear singing. We wandered around a bit , took some pictures and left for Lucca. Lucca is a quaint town with intact walls from the romantic period We ate lunch at Nonna Clara's. I had pasta with wild boar meat sauce. If anyone out there thought that I kept Kosher let me abuse you of that notion. Joey had ravioli with meat sauce. Tom and Serene split a caprese salad and ravioli with spinach and ricotta . We were all pleased with our choices. Now back up the coast towards Genoa, Will we find someplace else to stop before we get to Genova? It is anyone's guess. Back at the City Hotel in Genoa, We were all so tired we didn't want to walk far. We chose the hotel's restaurant which we had not yet tried: Le Rune. I could barely eat so I chose a salad. It was quite nice and sufficient. Serene of course was looking for gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce But they didn't have it. Joey had the same salad and pasta Bolognese . Tom and Serene had something vegetarian, of course.
