We were picked up early, but were the last on our tour bus. As we wended our way from Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello (plus a few smaller villages) we were told that there are more than 1200 turns - mamma mia! Positano known for shoes clothes and romance and 1,000 steps to the beach. Of course we were taken to a shopping strip - I found more sunglasses frames! We passed a Church where u get married and then have the honeymoon next door ... Then we drove thru Praiano - the heart of the Coast . And the little town of Furore where places are very expensive and usually rent only in summer. In the Winter bars and restaurants are closed. We spent the most time in Amalfi where we ate lunch beside a beautiful church - Amalfi's shops were interesting but we didn't have time to get past the touristy shops ...we did do a boat tour -very short -!so we could see the coastline from the water which everyone said was the best view. Aconi is a town built under the road - rich people live here. Salerno Is known for Americans landing there during the 2nd world war so we didn't head out that far. Ravello is known for its music and its church -Wagner wrote part of one of his pieces here . It is a charming quiet place. It was our last stop, so I bought a few scarves - and Joey and I got in a lovely discussion with a wine shop owner and decided to ship some bottles home.. We pretty much slept on the way back to our villa. We dropped our shopping bags, I did my knee treatment, and we headed back to da Filippo for dinner. Again. And it was good. Back "home" to watch a bit of TV and then a bit of work on the blog!
