Does anybody else remember the Mickey mouse club on television? Or am I the oldest among us…. Never mind.. We took our time this morning getting out of the flat, wandered down to our little cafeteria for a light and late breakfast, and then walked to Lucia. Joey was very sweet – the woman we booked our bed and breakfast through as a women's clothes shop named Lucia, and I like so many of her things I got a whole outfit! Joey hung in there while I tried on outfit after outfit. Since tomorrow is our embarkation day for the huge cruise, we decided that today would be a good day to do laundry. Joey scoped out how the Italian laundromat worked - and then did the wash - while I did some bookkeeping through Airbnb for future guests. Lunch today at the red Prawn - il Gambero Rosso. Prosciutto e melone for me, and pasta for Joey. Took it easy this afternoon did a little packing, try to find some news in English - didn't work - and I read a bit. For dinner we went to il Giusto Gusto. We asked a couple of people about it - they didn't know it. But the reviews were so good, though in Italian, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. The reviews are right – excellent food excellent prices excellent service. And wow – the auntie pasta dish was huge, and so very good! Almost wished we had and ordered the two dishes to follow, amatriciana and a gnocchi with mushrooms and truffles, but we are oh so glad we did.v The gnocchi was soft, the sauce creamy, the mushrooms and truffles oh so late and delicious! And the amatriciana was a beautifully season, and with tomato and bacon. I had a wonderful red wine, a Barbera. And the service was so very good with me trying to speak Italian and the waiter trying to speak English: we managed very well! Civitavecchia all around seems to have reasonable prices. I think I would be happy to have another cruise that started and ended here just so we could eat at this restaurant and the 80 Fame from last night again. Oh - and the music was mostly American rock. If we stayed later we could have done karaoke ... Now to finish packing ...
