Happy New Year
New Years Eve was spent in the Royal Botanic Gardens, overlooking the harbour and the harbourbridge. We went up at 6 am in the morning so that we would be there in time to get good spots in the park. And did we get good spots, in the shadow (was so hot that day) with the most incredible view right infront of the fireworks. Since we were gonna spend the entire day there (from around 9 am til 12.30 am) we brought our little picnicbasket with some snacks, water (big big must in the heath) and delicouis sandwiches that we had prepared the day before. So along with a great view, good food and newfound friends we had an amazing day. And let me tell you, it was worth all the waiting. My bum was killing me from sitting on it all day long, my shoulders feelt like they had frozen stuck, and my mind was so tired from the heath, but it was worth it...It was all worth it. I know now why they say that the Sydney fireworks are the best in the world. It was amazing. I got all emotional at the end because everything as so pretty, one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my entire life. It's a memory I am gonna cherish for as long as I live.
Tomorrow we are leaving for Byron Bay, finally. Sydney feels a bit like home now after spending so much time here. We can even find our way around the city pretty good. And we finally got the hang of the bus and trainsystem. At 7 pm we're on our way up the east coast, a 14 hour ride. It's an overnight bus so hopefully we will both get some sleep, although I highly doubt it.
NEXT STOP; BYRON BAY!
