Stay the hell away from my fruit!
Yesterday we bought 1 banana (among other things) and 2 kiwi at the chinese supermarket in Chinatown and today at lunchtime, when we were going to EAT OUR FRUIT someone had stolen 1 banan and 2 kiwi.. WTF? Stay away from my fooood, buy your own! I guess there's always a chance that someone takes stuff from the kitchens at these hostels so It's not like Im suprised. It's just annoying. Very annoying. I wanted my banana and my kiwi:( Anyway, it's not the end of the world.
I woke up at 7 AM today, Why? Well guess...some guy sat in the corridor, singing and playing guitar.. Hello? I AM SLEEPING HERE. Show some respect. I hate hostels sometimes, and people too, atleast I highly dislike them.
At 9 AM we had our orientation at the work and travel company office. We got our Australian SIMcard, information about how to open up the bankaccount and so on. Some tips about travelling around Australia and what not to do. Feelt good. Both Ida and me left the meeting a bit more relaxed about the whole situation. Now we can actually look forward to this trip, not just thinking about what we have left behind...like boyfriends, friends and family. I think it will be good for me to spend some time "alone" before I go back to real life and my life with Yasser. We'll see what happens, I might stay here for 6 months or I might go home earlier. Im taking one day at a time and just see what that takes me.
Tomorrow we are checking out from Sydney Central YHA and moving to Billabong gardens in Newtown. Check out http://www.billabonggardens.com.au/
Since we are trying to save money, or maybe cuz I am holding on to my money a bit too much we decided that we would walk to Newtown. I saw it on the map and It didn't seem that far away...So we walked there today. We are smart, we didn't wanna go there with all of our packing without even knowing how to find it so we went for a "trial with no packing" We found Newtown, no problem, but Billabong gardens? Hehe not even the locals seemed to know where that was. So after what seemed like forever we found it (a nice girl at a bookstore googled it for us Haha) So tomorrow morning it's time for a 40 min walk with heavy packing. Im sooo excited! Or not... But what the heck, this is the life of a backpacker. It's not easy at times but I see it as a challenge. If I wasn't such a "snal smalanning" I would have taken the bus or train but hehehe...
Cheers
