On my list of things to do before we leave Port Ginesta was 'update blog'. So here we go! We are paid up here until 15th Feb, when we intend to head to Mallorca. We have done a lot of the easier jobs, we've run the engines, topped up oil etc, fixed the log, cleared out a lot of the cubbys and spaces that get cluttered when double helix becomes a house boat, washing all the bedding while we have access to a washing machine…blah blah blah! I have managed to re-injure my toe and am spending today sitting still - so today I will cross 'blog' off the list too! That will just leave the big things like - autopilot, new diesel tanks (still to arrive) and hydraulic steering! We are all enjoying life without the hire car - the pace has slowed again to a much more enjoyable pace. Ellen and Anna and I have been getting the bus into castadellfell (a lovely scenic route) and practising my Spanish! Mike and Tina have lent John a bike for a while so he can cycle to the cashpoint etc.I even went out one evening with Trevor to a café that had an English Spanish talking exchange for an evening. I ended up in very broken Spanish talking to 2 lovely women about how Cher is made of plastic! (At first I thought they were asking me if I knew the Spanish word for chair!!!).We have a new neighbour. A Swiss man called Jolt (who speaks excellent English as he used to be a History and English teacher). He was supposed to be circumnavigating with his wife and son, but has had terrible trouble with his brand new boat (a feeling 36 - it leaks badly, the rigging has pulled the deck up and lots of other problems) and is trying to get it all sorted. He is very good company and has some very good wine on his boat!We took Ellen and Anna to a children's show last weekend which John and I hated but they quite enjoyed. There was a mediocre juggler - and awful woman in a spangly suit who balanced stuff on her feet (Ellen thought she was beautiful) and the dodgiest raffle in the world. There were about 20 presents lined up on the stage - and only one raffle prize was won! The rest were all shoved into a corner! The girls have been playing 'shows' ever since.I have been enjoying my Spanish lessons and thought I was getting a bit better, but I can only understand if people speak incredibly slowly! And that doesn't happen much in spain! So we are still quite happy here, but getting itchy feet (or in my case a sore toe) to move on!I am also planning a new bit of for our website - so have a look at it now and again!!
