My first day in Wellington i got the cable car seen in the picture to the Botanic gardens. The top of the cable car gives great views of Wellington. Today i did the 17km Tongariro crossing. This walk takes u through the Tongariro national park. THe first half of the walk is a very very steep climb up volcanoes. the ground is lose rocks and extremley hard to walk up. After the first cllimb the vioews back across the volcanic landscape were fantastic. it then falttens out for a short while before the next sttep clime up the volcanoe, here the ground was lose and hard to climb. the top of thid clime is the hoges...

Today i did a sky dive over lake taupo. Eventually managed to do after 3 days of cancellations due to the weather. It was fantastic, you have to put a red suit on over your clothes with hat, gloves and goggles and then step into this harness with loads of buckles and attachments which attaches u to the tandem master. I have been in Rotorua the past week. It is an old spa town situated in a volcainic area. This has lead to geothermal areas all around Rotorua. You can walk very far around the city before you see steam coming out the soil. One area in particalur around the sulpahr bay part of Lake Rotorua has lots of theraml action. Arrived in Auckland on Friday to glorious sunshine, got picked up from the airport from my friend and he took me up Mt Eden which is an old volcanoe with 360 degree views over Auckland you could see for miles.
