25th may i obviously wasnt used to having a proper dinner as i was nt very well today. however we had to leave Curio bay where it was really frosty very very cold and still dark so we could get to Invercargill by 8.30 for Moira and i to get a shuttle tobluff and the ferry to Stewart Island. luckily the bus ride was only an hour and just survived the journey!! From Dunedin we left and headed south through the Catlins to Curio bay right at the bottom right hand corner of the south island. THe catlins is mainly farm land and there are only a few small towns that we passed through. Its fairly flat with some hills and very green and reminded me of home. left queenstown at 8 and heading to Dunedin today. The bottom bus is much smaller then the normal kiwi exp bus and there were only 9 people on the bus. On the drive from Wanaka to here we stopped at the Kawara bridge for some very mad people on the bus to do a bungy jump. This is the smallest one in Q/town to do but still did not make me want to do it. When we left Franz Josef we drove to lake Matheson which is famous for it perfect reflection on MT cook and the southern alps in the lake. however when we got there despite it being a really clear, cold morning the reflection wasnt that good. you could see Mt cook in the distance and the fox glacier though.
