So my adventures were over, Australia was officially finished. Just one thing left to do. New Years Eve Fireworks in Sydney. But first I had to leave Perth on Christmas Day of all days. I woke in the morning to 3 pressies in my shoes, Cherry Coke, Jaffa Cakes and Monster Munch (three things you cant get in Australia). Tanja had ventured down to the Uk sweet shop for me. Shes such a sweety.
As I was leaving Perth there was bush fires breaching the outer areas of the runway... so cool to look at anyhow. I said goodbye to Tanja here, where she headed home to Germany.
I arrived in Sydney on Christmas Day and Kate from work picked me up, she has become a really good friend to me, but if I have to be honest Christmas day sucked. I really missed the Miall family piss up. Shhhh don't tell them though! I also wished I could have had some of the great friends I made in my time in Australia here, Katie, Liza, Fin, Claire, Nat, Barry, Del, Chrissy etc..
New Year was my saving grace, Renee another girl from work lent me her flat while she was away, and oh my god it overlooked the Harbor Bridge. We had a great New Year, dressing up in wigs for a 70's disco night, then watching the fireworks with the newly arrived Dew (Russes sister), Nick and Pat from Fraser Island and Renee and Randy.
There were so brilliant, the whole sky was alight with hundreds of fireworks, and then the bridge lit up in a spectacular light display Followed by firework explosions from the top, and then from the buildings in the city. We could see everything from where we were. It really was the best goodbye I ever could have imagined.
Goodbye Sydney and hello Auckland
