Happy new years everyone!!
We have spent the last four days in Udaipur, an old city on the edge of Lake Pichola. The city is full of rooftop restaurants, and handcraft shops, which line narrow winding lanes. The area attracts alot of tourists but it's easy to see why, the city has a loveable charm and the views are breathtaking. We could easily get used to having breakfast on our hotel roof terrace overlooking the lake and lake palace hotel. New years eve was one to remember as we were treated to multiple firework displays from the hotels that surround the lake.
We have also been enjoying the local dish thali; it consists of lots of servings of different vegetable dishes along with chapati, rice and poppudoms eaten from a silver platter. It costs 70 rupees (one pound) and is endlessly topped up as you eat (thats right all you can eat curry for one pound)!!!
