Hey all,
We had a tour of Parliment today. It was amazing. We got to see the queen's throne as well as where they debate. Craig got to be Gordon Brown and place his hands on the box and pretend to argue with Tony Blair, played by another member of our group. Later that night we saw the actual event on tv which I thought was pretty cool. Parliment was filled with very big and grand rooms.
We then went across the street to Westminister Abbey. We saw the tombs of Edward I and Henry the III as well as Elizabeth I. We also saw the coronation chair that has been used for every coronation since 1301. We went through poets corner where we saw Geoffrey Chaucer's tomb. We saw where the coronations take place, which is also the place where most recently the funerals of Diana Princess of Wales and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. Next we saw the cloisters, chapter house, and the museum. The last things we saw were the Nave which holds the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and memorials to Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin, Roosevelt, and Isaac newton. The Abbey was really neat to see...too bad we couldn't take any pictures inside...but who really wants to see pictures of dead people anyway :)
We watched a little bit of british tv before going to bed...interesting what's on!
Love
Craig and Audrey
