Study Abroad
Hey All,
We took a taxi from the Ashlee House (the hostel we stayed in) to Linstead hall on the Imperial College Campus. It cost 18 pounds and was worth every penny...i mean pence :) We dropped our luggage off at the hall around 10:30 am and then wandered around for awhile becuase we could not get into our rooms until 2:00 pm. We walked aimlessley until we found Hyde Park. It is a very large park with a lake in it. We went in to the park only because we were hungry and we saw the first food we could find. There was a charity race going on. They said there were 20,000 runners/walkers. We got something to eat and then walked around for a while and then sat by the lake.
We arrived back to Linstead hall an hour early to wait to check in. We were given a short orientation to our rooms and such. They gave us breakfast vouchers for everyday we are here...it is a nice breakfast and the best part is its free! We met all the other people that are studying abroad and moved all our stuff into Garden Hall. We had to haul all of our luggage up 3 floors which is like 8 very long flights of stairs...well i shouldn't say we carried up our luggage because Craig carried all of our lugguge up for me while I went to try and get the room switching paperwork done. We weren't originally together but we got it figured out. They gave us each a plate, bowl, glass, coffee cup, and silverware...which was nice.
We had a walking tour at 4 which was semi informative. The guy giving the tour didn't really seem to know much. We were shown where breakfast was and where classes were.
When we returned from the tour we went back to our rooms and took showers and got ready. Most of us either went to a pub or out to eat. Craig and I went out to eat to Il Borgo, an italian place...it was good but i think something made me sick because I had a bad upset stomach...oh well.
Love
Craig and Audrey
