July 11, 2010 Sitting in class room during lunch break:
I just ate some falafel and it was Aadee (normal, nothing special). No Shewarma today but I'm looking forward to wedding food tonight. We are going to one of Cameron's friends wedding tonight. Her name is Selma and she is from Tunisia but went to school at Alabama. It starts at 8:00 tonight. This past weekend was really good, we went to Wast al Ballad and shopped around. I bought the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series for 5 JD and the nbought a sports coat for the wedding for 25 JD. Overall a really good haul. The jacket is brown and kind of a mix between suede and cordoroy. It's lined and was made in Italy. Nothing else special happened really, we saw "From Paris with Love" which was really bad and UP in Arabic which was really cool but in Egyptian Colloquial so I couldn't understand as much as I would have liked. I'm thinking of buying some other Disney Classics in Arabic while I'm here. It was nice talking with everyone in the shops in Arabic. We got alot of compliments on our Arabic and 2 different people thought I was from Turkey, haha. I don't know what people from Turkey look like but I guess I'd fit in. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Our VISA's expire this week and I don't want to pay for blood work to be done to get a 3 month VISA so we're hopping a ferry across the Red Sea to Egypt. We're going to stay in a really cheap hostel on the beach and snorkel the reefs right off the beach. The seafood is caught fresh and everything is really cheap. I think it will cost about 15 USD for both of us to stay 2 nights. The only thing we'll have to bring is a sheet or blanket for the matresses. We'll leave Thursday after class and come back Saturday. When we come back our VISA will be reset and we'll be good for another month. Saudi Arabia should be ready for us by then. CLASS TIME!
