Okay, first blog update in a few days...
We haven't really been getting up to too much, on thursday Josh and Sam took Rosie and Chris AND their luggage in the little Daihatsu to Christchurch to catch their plane home. At the airport, Rosie looked at her passport and saw that if she stayed past her visa expiry date then she would have her face taken off!! ("...face removal...").
Meanwhile I accompanied Nan to patchwork club and met some of her friends and sat in on their session. It was really nice to listen to things they do and view the reward of their sewing efforts. One lady has been collecting buttons to send to a jewish school in the North Island who are collecting buttons for every child killed in the Holocaust, some 1.5 million! I met a really nice lady called Doreen who told me that there's a card making session on Friday mornings that need someone to look after a few kids during for $20, so I've already got a little bit of work which is comforting.
Afterwards, I met up with my old best friend from when we lived here, Jaime and we went to a really nice cafe for something to eat and to catch up. Then we went to the High School because it was lunchtime and sat in the common room chatting to some of her friends and some people who I'd known too! It felt really odd to be seeing people I hadn't seen in 8 years now in their final year of school before Polytec and Uni!
In the evening Josh, Sam and I went to the cinema in Timaru to watch Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen which was awesome! The screen was really full except for about 5 seats on the front row and we were on the second, so we were quite lucky.
Friday morning Nan and I went to the card making session to check out the creche and to see a man about upholstering Granny's nursing chair. We spent most of out time taking out nails to remove the 40 year old fabric and foam underneath. We then took it back home for Sam and Josh to remove the varnish :D
In the afternoon, after a lunch of egg and bacon sandwiches (YUM!) we all went into Timaru to do some shopping. Sam bought a capo for his guitar, Josh bought some running shoes, and I bought some well needed fashion clothes after only bringing basics to layer in the cold weather :P
We then rented a few movies and watched them while having a delicious tea of Fish and Chips with apricot sauce :D We first watched Seven Pounds with Will Smith and Rosario Dawson which was amazing, so powerful, and then Sam, Josh and I watched Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle which we felt was a bit slow throughout, but it was quite good. Then we went to bed (I could barely keep my eyes open during the second film, Nan, just like mum just made it through the first drifting off a feww times :P)
We don't really have anything planned for today (Saturday) so we shall just roll with it.
Keep checking up for more fun and games :D
