Australian Embassy,
Both myself and Matt are outraged by allegations we smuggled a group of snakes and lizards into the country. Oh s***, wrong letter.....
Both of us were very excited to head to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Friday. We set the alarm and got up early to ensure we could line up for the required 2 and a half hours at the tennis. However when we arrived, there was the little problem that the queue snaked for 3 miles, and the stewards said if we lined up for 9 hours we would have a chance of getting a ticket. The decision was made to head into London, as it was a glorious day. The efforts to get to Wimbledon were not in vain, as we did see the best looking girls in the world strolling around outside the grounds.
The day in London was spent on deckchairs in the sun, and watching street performances in Covent Garden. We then met up with our old mate Larissa, and had a walk around London with her. This walk ended up at Harrods, however the lovely security guard decided our singlets for not appropriate for the store.
We had a pub meal with Riss and her parents, followed by numerous beers, pear ciders and snake bites (beer, cider and blackcurrant). During this time, we met an American airhostess who showed some interest in Luke (or Jose the pool cleaner in this case). A candle-lit dinner was shared, along with a glass of red. This wonderful woman claimed to be a famous jewelry maker, however we think she might be better working for tic tacs.
On the walk back to Riss' hotel room we ran into Marat Safin, the Russian tennis superstar who was heading into a hotel with 3 Russian hotties.
Saturday we headed back to our place in Hook, dragging Riss with us. Jane was away at a Hen's night so we had the house to ourselves. So being the responsible and kind people we are, we decided to have all the boys round for a BBQ and drinking session. As the sun went down, we decided to head into Basingstoke so we could burn up the dancefloor.
On Sunday morning we were both a bit worse for wear, after not having more than 5 hours sleep in a night since Tuesday and also having limited time sober since this time. However we braved our current state and headed to the pub to watch the England vs Germany match, which was a major disappointment for all involved.
We had a ball in Birmingham for the weekend, having a crack at ice skating and also having a night out in Stratford which is the birthplace of Shakespeare. Matt tried his ice skating skills in the bathroom, but fell into the sink and smashed it to smitherines.
Another day was spent in Winchester, where we saw the round table from the era of King Arthur and the knights of the round table.
Also it was pleasing that Luke got on the scoreboard after meeting a lovely young English lass.
