Just a quick roll call-
Luke? Yep I'm here.
Matt? ....... Matt? ......Oh wait he is asleep.
Now we have got that out of the way we can start on the very interesting and intriguing lives we live.
The obvious lowlight of the week took place last Wednesday night, or "Student Night" as anyone who is anyone would call it. About 6 of us started out in the Pub in Hook, before heading to Basingstoke. After numerous pubs and bars we all headed to the local nightclub, Liquid. At around 3am, after hours of intense dance-flooring (it's a word, look it up), we realised we hadn't seen the others for about an hour. In the state that we were in, we found this minor detail more funny than anything, so we continued our fun. But when we eventually left Liquid, we realised we didn't have the faintest clue on where we could find a taxi to get home. Luckily, we met a drunk fat chick who helped us on our way with directions (Via McDonalds, KFC and Burger King) and we managed to get home.
Thursday brought cricket training with our adopted club, Hartley Whitlam, as we attempted to recapture some form before Sunday's game. Being badly hungover didn't help our case, but we got through training alright.
On Saturday we set off on another day trip with Jane, this time to Bournemouth. We watched the Australia vs Ghana game in a bar, and were very proud of the boys. But we did manage to find our favourite place in the world excluding Caroline Springs, "The Penny Arcade". In this haven, you change all your money for 2 pence coins and gamble on various games. Before we knew it we had been in the arcade for 3 hours and owed a suspicious Russian £150. The day climaxed with Fish & Chips by the water for dinner, which was a fitting end for a great day.
Sunday brought with it a game of cricket, which had been much anticipated by both of us. We batted first with Luke at 5 and Matt at 6. After a few hefty blows Luke was dismissed for 16, which brought Matt to the crease. He looked growingly confident before being run out by our team-mate for 8. Our team was bowled out for a disappointing 140. We set about defending that total, with Luke opening the bowling. I managed to get the first wicket, before looking like getting the second as well but mid-off dropped an easy catch. From there we got easily beaten, the other team making our score after losing only 2 wickets.
Today we have a day made in heaven planned; starting off heading to the pub to watch the England vs Slovenia game and Australia vs Serbia as well. Following this double header we head to Basingstoke again for another night out for student night, with cheap drinks all night.
